Meet 5 - Evergreen Lakes
Meet Three Theme - Shark Tank
Let’s show them our team spirit! We can't wait to see your creativity.
We will be swimming at home against Hanarry West. Our seating area is on the wall side of the pool. We leave the lake side and turn end available for the visiting team.
Entries and heat sheets are attached to this email. Heat sheets areavailable on the Swimtopia app. Warm ups begin at 5:10 when we are the home team. We ask that you have your swimmers ready for warm up by 5:00, with their name and events marked up.
Concessions will be available for purchase, and you are also welcome to bring your cooler along with you. Please remember to refrain from glass items and observe the league’s policy of no alcohol on the pool deck.
All swimmers will be called for races in the team area only. If you have young swimmers please plan to stay with them in the team area. As a reminder, no food/beverage are allowed on the tennis courts. Please refrain from writing on the courts with chalk or other items. Running, climbing on nets or walls, and other potentially dangerous play is not allowed. Swimmers are required to stay in the marked area. Please bring items that will encourage play in their area such as cards or other similar games.
This week is HOT. Please bring tents or other items to keep your kiddos cool in the team area. Also, make sure to have them hydrate well Wednesday and Thursday in preparation for the heat. They will need lots of water during the meet.
Please check the work schedule attached to this email. We do not load this into Swimtopia. Information you may see on your app is incorrect. The information we send out is the correct set of assignments. All meet workers are required to check in with Brian Christopherson upon arrival. He will be near the scoring room on the pool deck.
If you are a timer or stroke and turn judge, please listen for the announcement for you to report to the scoring room for your meeting. Your timeliness will help us stay on schedule.
It is VERY important that you not leave the meet without checking without telling a coach. Relays are a very important part of a meet. If your swimmer is entered in a relay, the team is relying on them to be there. If there is an unavoidable circumstance and your swimmer cannot swim the relay, please inform a coach. In such a situation, we could attempt to find an available swimmer to substitute if we get enough notice. So, even if your swimmer is not entered in a relay, they could be called upon to sub. This is very important for the whole team.
This will be a very close meet, likely our toughest of the season. We love the team spirit we have seen this season. Be prepared to cheer on the Sharks!
Fun practice will be on Saturday at 1:30. We will give out ribbons, eat donuts, and have lots of fun with teammates and coaches. We hope you will all join us for this popular practice.
Please make sure you are subscribed for team text messages! To do so, simply text @schsharks to 81010. If there is a weather related delay during the meet, that is the quickest way we can communicate with you. In the event of a weather delay, you will be asked to go to your car to wait it out. Please DO NOT leave the meet. We will make every effort to complete the meet, and have a specific protocol to follow from the league. We will keep you informed via Remind.
If you plan to swim in the parents vs. coaches relay, please email us today! That race will be held shortly before the start of the meet. We will call you when it’s time to gather at the start end of the pool. A few people have asked how long the relay is, and what stroke. It is 50 meters per swimmer and any stroke you would like to swim.
And, if you would like to participate in the coach gifts, please give that money to a parent board member during the meet.
Watch your email for details about the county meet!
If you have questions, please find one of us on the pool deck, or feel free to email us. Brian, Terry, Amy, and Adrienne will be in attendance and we are here to help you!
See you at the pool,
Adrienne & Amy
